In 1914, Naugahyde was invented at the U.S. Rubber plant in Naugatuck, Connecticut. It was the first rubber-based artificial leather ever made, and the first in a series of product innovations. Naugahyde is recognized as a global leader in high-performance vinyl coated fabrics and top coats.

Naugahyde products are known for their quality and durability. All are subjected to rigorous testing in our on-site testing laboratory as well as by third party certifiers. We've passed the most stringent quality requirements in the industry earning ISO 9001:2008 certification.
All Naugahyde products are proudly made in America. For over 50 years, our products have been developed and manufactured at our plant in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Our 10,000-square-foot research and development facility includes our own design staff and testing laboratory ensuring that our products meet the highest industry standards.
